What exactly is The Giraffe Shed?

We’re based on a legit working farm, so there are only so many weddings we can host each year. Our season runs from mid-April to mid-September, and those limited spaces get booked up pretty damn fast!

You can invite up to 100 guests for your ceremony and wedding breakfast, and up to 120 for the evening reception. Every wedding we host includes provision of the venue, an indoor bar with late licence, outside bar, tables and benches, our Trailer Park accommodation and a snuggly cosy shepherd hut all to yourselves by our lake.

The Giraffe Shed

The wedding barn to trump all wedding barns. The Giraffe Shed itself is your main event space where your ceremony, meal, and dancing all happens.

The Shepherd Hut

A handcrafted lakeside hut, lovingly built by our very own Neilo. Replete with comfy bed, ensuite, and loads of snacks, it’s got romantic rustic wedding written all over it.

The Black Box

Your daytime hub, and our shipping container of dreams. The Black Box is a magical outdoor covered bar serving your every need, from arrival drinks to cheeky post-dinner cocktails.

On-Site Accommodation

Our old chicken sheds have become six guest bedrooms. We also have a beautiful separate spacious prep area that you can use to get ready!

The Giraffe Shed is a location chameleon. Come for the weekend, or just for a day, create your own mini festival wedding, or channel stripped-back industrial vibes. It’s a child-friendly, pet-friendly, disabled access haven with all the little details considered.

The majority of our customers book The Giraffe Shed for full weekend weddings. That means three days, Friday-Sunday, for you to make the venue yours, and enjoy it to the max!

We’ve also added micro-wedding packages to our menu, for those of you with busier schedules, more modest visions, or planning your wedding on a budget.

Classic Full Weekend!

You’ll get exclusive use of the full venue from Friday-Sunday. That includes all our venue spaces (more info on those here), two bars, The Trailer Park accommodation and Shepherd hut.

When it comes to the practicalities, tables and benches are provided too, and the toilet situation includes facilities in The Shed and accommodation (find out more in our FAQs).

Catering and tableware isn’t provided in your hire fee, but we’ve got a whole list of amazing suppliers who’ll be more than happy to help with all your foodie needs. And of course, you can DIY every aspect of your wedding and bring it all with you too.

The Rough Schedule

Friday – planning, prepping, primping. You, your squad, and your suppliers will have full site access for set-up.

Saturday – your big day, exactly as you want it, down to the very last decoration.

Sunday – time to undo-it-yourself! Or if you can’t face the Sunday morning work, then Team Giraffe offer our own clean-up service.

* of course you don't have to stick to the above - the venue is yours for the weekend, so if you have multiple ceremonies or a cultural ceremony, the space can be used to fit your needs.
